Part of our mission statement is to advocate for businesses and the community. Our Chamber Staff and Board maintain a strong working relationship with our local, regional and state representatives so that we can keep membership informed and foster a business-friendly environment within our county. These partnerships assist us when there is pro-business legislation for us to promote, and to provide a voice for the Yates County business community to ensure growth and job creation.
For current local, regional and state updates, visit our news section.
These are some of the efforts that the Chamber provides our members and community at large:
We maintain a health insurance program that covers nearly 2,000 Yates County residents.
Group health insurance is offered at a discounted rate to businesses who live or work in Yates County, whom are not eligible for Medicare and whom insure at least one employee. Enrollment requires membership; the current minimum investment is $295/year.
A group may enroll in health insurance the first of any month, enrollment in direct plans or on exchange December-January with an effective date of January 1, February 1 or March 1.
We have NYS Licensed staff on hand to help with coverage interpretation and enrollment. They are trained on the group insurances, direct and on the NY Exchange.
