Community Shred-It Event

Yates County Chamber of Commerce

If you came to the September 9th Community Shred-It, you would have seen that we had quite the turn-out. It is too bad the company made an error and didn't send the truck!

Don't worry- if you dropped off your papers, it was stored in the Lyons National Bank Vault and destroyed that following Monday.

However, we don't blame you- we understand you may have been very upset. Loading up all that paperwork is a hassle- and we are aimed at making it up to you!

Shred-It WILL be coming on October 14th (Don't worry, we have called and confirmed MANY, MANY times!) from 10-1.

Please feel free to stop by the Chamber and drop off all your paperwork at 2375 Route 14 A in Penn Yan.

Identity theft is a serious problem- and it doesn't just affect individuals in big cities. Many Yates County residents have already been a victim of this crime- and we are trying to help protect YOU.

It doesn't matter if you are a resident or a business- bring it all.

In 2016, over $16 billion dollars was stolen from 15.4 million U.S. Consumers. With all of the identity leaks from credit reporting agencies and credit card companies, shredding your paperwork is one thing that YOU can to to prevent a predator from stealing your information.

The event is free and open to the public. If you feel as though you can make a $2 donation per box to the Chamber, please do so. If you cannot, that is OK too!

For more information, please call the Chamber at 315-536-311 or email
