Music in the Park ft. Moose River Band

Village Square Hammondsport, NY

Formed in 1979 as a party band playing events around Keuke Lake. Howie, Colby and Tommy were having so much fun brother Joe came up from Florida to join in on bass. When summer ended Howie, Joe and Colby moved to New Paltz, NY to keep things going. Living together with Joe's wife and daughter, in the midst of an apple orchard, the guys rehearsed by day and gigged by night, roving the Hudson Valley and Connecticut. Edgar Goss was their "go to" drummer, after Bill Griffiths moved on. The band took a break when Joe moved back to Florida and Howie got married. Howie reformed the band in the Albany area with John VanLuyk on drums, Peter Noonan on drums, and Rags Murtagh on harmonica. A variation on that theme was Tommy rejoining for a few gigs and Andrew Hardin coming up from the city (NYC) to gig on weekends. In 2009 Howie called the original guys to see about doing a reunion concert in their hometown of Hammondsport, NY. Everyone was on board and in 2010 the Moose River Band hit the stage for the first 30+ Reunion. It was so cool they've been filling the park ever since with happy concertgoers, some of which remember them from the "good ol' days”
