Seneca Wine Trail's Bargain Bash
The Seneca Lake Wine Trail's events season is in high gear, starting off with our annual Bargain Bash! Unlike our other events, this week long sales event does not require tickets. Think of Bargain Bash as being like a big, Trail-wide spring cleaning, garage sale! Participating wineries take the opportunity to clean out their inventory and drop prices on select items consisting of everything from wine, to wine glasses, clothes and other retail items. This event will be held January 9-18, 2010. If you are on our mailing list, you'll also receive a postcard once per year that includes half a dozen coupons that can be used during this event. If you did not already receive this postcard, sign up to be on our mailing list and we'll do our best to get you a postcard before Bargain Bash starts up.

Caribbean Cruise with John & Stacey McGregor
Stacey and John McGregor are excited to announce that they’re hosting a seven day Caribbean cruise The cruise leaves Fl. Lauderdale on January 10, 2010 for a seven day tour of the eastern Caribbean on the Emerald Princess cruise ship. We’ll make stops at Princess Cays, Bahamas; St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands and Grand Turk, Turks Caicos Islands. Saturday the 30th  Robbie Burns Day Celebration
This is a great way to beat the winter blues and celebrate all things Scottish! Traditional Scottish foods are being prepared and samples will be offered to visitors to compliment their wine tasting. This is the first event of McGregor’s event season and 2010 is noteworthy as it is the winery’s 30th anniversary! Stacey McGregor is preparing samples Haggis, Roast Beef, Hunter’s Cabbage, Herbed Shortbread and mulled Highlands Red wine! All of McGregor’s fine wines will be available to compliment the food samples. There is a nominal charge of $12 per person. February Events


Thursday the 4th  Penn Yan Public Library Friends Annual Meeting
5:00pm in the Hicks Kimball Room (formerly the Library Program Room) of Penn Yan Public Library. This year's featured speaker will be Mr. Andrew Carnegie. One of Mr. Carnegie's lifelong interests was the establishment of free public libraries to make available to everyone a means of self-education. There were only a few public libraries in the world when, in 1881, Carnegie began to promote his idea. He subsequently spent over $56 million to build 2,509 libraries throughout the English-speaking world. Penn Yan Public Library is one of those libraries. Come and meet this most distinguished guest. Refreshments will be served following the program. All are welcome.

Saturday the 6th  Scrapbooking Workshop at Penn Yan Public Library
Are you an enthusiastic scrapper? Or is scrapbooking something you?ve always wanted to try? Whether you?re new to scrapbooking or an old pro this workshop is for you. Penn Yan Public Library is offering a two hour scrapbooking workshop with teacher Kim Slack. 10:00 am - 12 noon Feb. 6, 2010 in the library program room. Registration begins Jan 15, 2010 and ends Feb 6, 2010. A fee of $5.00 (for materials) is due at the time of registration. Beginner to advanced scrappers are welcome. This is a beautiful way to record your family story for future generations. It?s also a great way to make new friends. Please bring along some pictures to use in your project. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

8th Annual Mardi Gras
It’s Mardi Gras with a special Valentine twist on the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail where you can bring your sweetheart in for a real sweet deal. Saturday the 13th  The Keuka Comfort Care Home 4th Annual Dinner Dance
Event will be held from 6-11pm at the Penn Yan Moose Lodge #2030. Prime Rib or Chicken Cordon Blue will be the dinner choices. Well known and multi talented “Agonal Rhythm”, will provide live music for the evening. A great get-away and treat for wine lovers and Valentines of all ages. This event is a self-driven, self-guided tour of the wineries on the trail. Cruisin' The Tropics Weekend Event
Pull out your tropical shirts, put on your sunglasses, go sock less in your boat shoes, wear your favorite beach hat, and join us for a weekend of relaxation in the tropics . . . just remember, life is what we make it! Each ticket holder receives a gift item at their starting winery. A self-guided tour "cruising" around beautiful Seneca Lake, visiting over 30 unique wineries, each with their own tropical theme, over the 2-1/2 day weekend of "fun in the tropics". This wine and food pairing event, now in its fifth year, was conceived to help break you out of the winter doldrums! Visit the Trail, enjoy some great wine, sample the tropically-themed dishes served at each of the participating wineries, and enjoy the many activities and themes that each winery takes special care to create. Friday the 18th  Cruisin Night
The 14th annual Cruisin’ Night is set for Friday, June 18th, and already the excitement is mounting!! Over 200 classic and antique cars are expected to attend. The street will close at 4PM with registration starting at 5PM. Eight-thirty heralds the start of the parade of cars, as the participants move through the streets of Penn Yan. The street will be lined with a variety of food vendors. All this, plus the shops, boutiques and galleries of the village will be open extended hours with a variety of special offerings and the usual blend of hometown hospitality. The Greyhound Wine Tour and Friends
Meet all your greyhound friends and their pups at our fifth Greyhound Gathering, where each greyhound owner will receive a commemorative Greyhound wine glass and enjoy wine tastings and food pairings. Each greyhound will receive doggie treats and partake in ice cream socials through out the weekend. In addition there will be doggie vendors, Adopt-a-Greyhound booths, concerts, barbecues and more. New to this year the “Art Trail” will be attending the “Wine Trail” with over 20 artists. Saturday the 28th  38th Annual Antique Show and Sale
This event is sponsored by the Yates County Agricultural Society.  There will be over 100 dealers on Saturday, August 22nd, from 9:30am to 3:30pm.  This event will be held at the Yates County Fairgrounds in Penn Yan, NY off Rt. 14A- South of the Village.  Admission is $3.50 and if you stop by the Yates County Chamber of Commerce you can recieve 50 cents off with the blue card.  There will be free coin appraisals/coin purchases by Tom Gleason from 9:30-1:00.  No pets on the field please.  RAIN or SHINE.  For more information please call 315-536-5039
